My attempt to blog all of the entries from the book 1001 Albums to Hear Before You Die
Brief Background: Here Come the Warm Jets was recorded in London in September of 1973 and released in November of the same year. Many of the musicians on the album were members of various UK Prog-Rock bands.
What I think: This album has the unfortunate honor of being among a handful of albums that really don’t elicit much of a positive or negative reaction from me. It’s alright here and there, with some cool instrumental moments along with really nice pop moments in “Needles in the Camel’s Eye” and “Cindy Tells Me”. But that’s about it other than saying it’s weird throughout.
Do I agree or disagree with the writers as to this being an album you must listen to? I really hate apathy and try to avoid it at all costs, but … meh.
