My attempt to blog all of the entries from the book 1001 Albums to Hear Before You Die
Original album is tracks 1-10
Brief Background: Tres Hombres was recorded at Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. The album was released in July of 1973.
What I think: This album just isn’t my thing. I have very little tolerance for most hard rock, and especially 1970’s hard rock. It really just grates on me. I do want to give the album props for the tight fast songs. Most are in the three minute range, which is just huge for the time period. It allows for some short concise solos, with no wasted time in the album which comes in at just over 33 minutes.
Do I agree or disagree with the writers as to this being an album you must listen to? For what it is, it’s a nice record. For me personally I don’t need to hear it again.
