1001 Albums You Must Hear (and Blog about) Before You Die

My attempt to blog all of the entries from the book 1001 Albums to Hear Before You Die

754. Nilsson Schmilsson – Harry Nilsson

Original album is tracks 1-10.

Brief Background: Nilsson Schmilsson was recorded in London in June of 1971 and was released in November of the same year.

What I think: This is one of those albums that I really think is a really good piece, but just doesn’t do much for me personally. I feel no connection to it, nothing really grabs me. “Without You” has always seemed over done to me, and “Coconut” is just too silly. The only thing here that really excites me is the end of “Jump Into the Fire”.

Do I agree or disagree with the writers as to this being an album you must listen to? I’m having things both ways here, but I do think it should be here. Great album, just not for me.

Rating (Out of 5): 3.0
