1001 Albums You Must Hear (and Blog about) Before You Die

My attempt to blog all of the entries from the book 1001 Albums to Hear Before You Die

914. Triangle – The Beau Brummels

Brief Background: Triangle was recorded and released in 1967. The album is notable for the sound and line-up shift of the band.

What I think: I get really excited when an album or group I’ve never heard of comes up in this project, but this album didn’t really do much of anything for me after the first listen… I was really apathetic about it, which is pretty much the worst feeling when having to write about something. So, I listened to it a second time and you know what? It’s really awful. Most of the song are mythic, cryptic, magic, related psychedelic crap. “The Wolf of Velvet Fortune” is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard.

Do I agree or disagree with the writers as to this being an album you must listen to? Ick….for the second record in a row, let us just move on.

Today I started new position as an Academic Librarian at Normandale Community College. Half of my time will be spent on reference and the other half on classroom instruction. I'm very excited to utilize the skills I have, but more importantly learn a zillion new things about librarianship!
