1001 Albums You Must Hear (and Blog about) Before You Die

My attempt to blog all of the entries from the book 1001 Albums to Hear Before You Die

942. Bert Jansch – Bert Jansch

Brief Background: This is the debut album by Jansch who was a folk musician from Scotland. The album was recorded in late 1964 and early 1965 and was released later that year.

What I think: Of all the albums I’ve listened to, nothing has brought on as much apathy as this one. It sounds good, and Jansch is a good folk musician, but the songs just didn’t do anything for me. I actually hardly noticed them playing in the background while going about my business.

Do I agree or disagree with the writers as to this being an album you must listen to? I looks to me like Jansch has had influence over a lot of different artists during his career, but that is mostly relegated to his home country. His music doesn’t really mean anything to me, so I’m nixing it from the list.
